Tuscany

a vintage cycling trip

6 - 12 September 2025 - JUST TWO PLACES LEFT

Stunning scenery and a fantastic climate would be reason enough to join a Tuscan cycle tour.  Add in the heady scent of the region’s famous Chianti wines and the fact that its equally infamous gravel roads reek of cycling history, and you have a ‘must-do’ for every cyclist at some point in their cycling careers.

Our Tuscan cycle camp puts you at the heart of it all.  Our base is Radda in Chianti,  a picture-perfect town of warm honey-coloured stone and green shutters, still encircled by its historic protective walls, and lying roughly equidistant between Florence and Siena. You will ride out each day on cypress-lined roads past grand villas and stone castles, into the surrounding hills which are striped with vineyards. The gradients are mostly gradual, but the riding is not to be underestimated.  Add in a few kilometres of the white gravel roads made famous by the Strade Bianche race, and you have a challenge to satisfy most cyclists.  A challenge to be rewarded at each day’s end with a glass of the local wine perhaps?

“Recently I did the Tuscany Camp with Viva Velo Cycle Tours and had a great time. We were a small group of 8 cyclists and Dyll and Derek were excellent guides. Our base was in Radda in Chianti and was the perfect location to explore the surrounding Tuscan countryside with trips out to Siena and Florence. Viva Velo cater for cyclists of all abilities so we were split into two groups and tackled different routes but having coffee stops/lunches in the same location so building up group camaraderie. Viva Velo do go the extra mile to ensure that their clients’ needs and wishes are met and I’ve always had a great experience cycling with them.”
